  1. Energy weapons may be some of the most fun guns featured in Fallout 3, but they have some underwhelming effects. Energy Weapons Enhanced aims to fix that problem combining aspects from the Energy.

The problem is that they made energy weapons a separate skill. It would have been better if they had 'pistols' versus 'rifles' skills instead, so that by the time you run across your first energy weapon you can actually start using it, instead of grinding out a new skill from scratch first. And then as soon as you're halfway proficient, BOOM the game is over.But given that Interplay had to come up with new RPG mechanics over a long weekend, I can't blame them for messing up in a few spots. I can go with having Energy Weapons as a separate skill to ballistic weapons - lasers are effectively hitscan weapons so someone familiar with bullets will have to actively train themselves to not lead their targets or account for wind/bullet drop/etc and I'm sure a blazing bolt of plasma flies differently to a bullet.
