Hi Everyone,We are currently testing out Windows 10 in our environment ready for a roll out during our summer refresh. While testing with one of our testing profiles. The search stopped working.
It appears to only affect this one profile as i move from one PC to anotherthe same problem persists.I ran a troubleshooter for start menu provided by microsoft. This tells me the following:Required applications are not installed correctly.' Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost' and 'microsoft.Windows.Cortana' applications need to be installed correctly.Any other user i've tested it out with works fine. Just this one user. I've recreated the roaming profile several times but the issue persists.Anyone else had a similar problem or able to offer any advice?
If after running the Windows 10 Start Menu Troubleshooter, you receive Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost and Microsoft.Windows.Cortana applications need to be installed correctly error, which. Jun 27, 2016 Thank you but not quite the same problem. Cortana has stopped on this one profile and the user is missing some tiles etc but more importantly cannot use the search function. It just displays a message saying that Cortana is not working. I put it down to the profile as it is only the one user. If the Start Menu, Apps, or the Wifi network buttons do not expand to show signals and drop down menus, then: Start CMD as administrator (rightclick Command Prompt & run as administrator) Paste this single lined command in and press enter-Its just a way to reload the Windows Store and apps which includes the Shell Experience.
